If you are looking for a perfect weekend recipe look no more! This crispy pizza is completely gluten-free, vegan and... addictive!

Thanks to new culinary additions, you will discover not only new flavors ...
Have you been dreaming of a gluten-free, crunchy and thin pizza base? All you need to do is use hemp flour, Jerusalem artichoke flour and hemp seeds in large amounts.
I kept the recipe simple with delicious classic products, however, it was hard to resist the urge to experiment. That is why I used tempeh in this recipe - it is an Indonesian-based substitute for meat and dairy products. All you need to do is dice the tempeh and quickly fry it in a little coconut oil, then sprinkle it with ground turmeric after removing it.
In my recipe, I also use sliced red onion, mushrooms, grated vegan cheese (my personal favourite is Violife). And after baking, I generously sprinkle the pizza with arugula leaves and sunflower sprouts, sprinkle it with hemp oil and decorate it with a baked lemon. It gives an incredible twist!
Ingredients :
- for the dough
1 flaxseed egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds + 2 tablespoons warm water)
1 cup gluten-free Jerusalem artichoke flour
1 cup of gluten-free hemp flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon of dried Italian herbs
½ cup of hemp seeds (for crunchiness, they can be unshelled)
2½ teaspoons of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt
2 tablespoons of hemp oil
1 cup of warm (but not hot) water
- toppings
½ cup of tempeh cut into small cubes
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
2 tablespoons of shelled hemp seeds
¼ - ½ cup tomato sauce for pizza or pelati tomatoes
a solid handful of grated vegan cheese
1 red onion, thinly sliced
3-4 mushrooms, thinly sliced
a solid handful of fresh arugula leaves
hemp oil to drizzle on the pizza after baking
half a cup of sunflower sprouts
1 lemon baked with the pizza
Preparation, step by step:
1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Sprinkle a little flour on a regular-size round pizza tray.
2. Prepare the flax egg by combining the ground flax seeds with water, mixing well, set aside to thicken.
3. In a large bowl, combine flour, garlic, herbs, hemp seeds, yeast, and salt. Mix well to combine.
4. Add oil, prepared flax egg and warm water to the flour mixture.
5. Stir until they blend well. Knead the soft dough.
6. Place the dough on the prepared pizza tray, gently and evenly crush it on the baking tray with your hands.
7. Place the pizza dough in the oven for 12-18 minutes or until it is lightly golden brown with cracks in the centre. Cracks ensure the cake is baked inside.
8. While the pizza dough is baking, fry the tempeh.
9. In a small pot, melt the coconut oil over medium heat.
10. Add the diced tempeh.
11. Fry the tempeh for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from heat, drain and sprinkle with turmeric.
12. Spread the right amount of tomato pizza sauce on the toasted bottom.
13. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
14. Add the sliced onion and mushrooms.
15. Put the lemon cut in half and the pizza back in the oven and bake until the cheese is melted and baked. About 10-15 minutes.
16. After removing, sprinkle with lemon and hemp oil, sprinkle with rocket, sunflower sprouts and shelled hemp seeds.
Optionally, you can add diced and baked beetroot.
Enjoy your meal!
